D. iNDyAN
Artist Bio

D. iNDyAN, whose birth name is Shahabudeen Khan Bazbeg was born in the city of Albion Estates, Berbice, Guyana in South America. As a vibrant young man, Shahabudeen nicknamed “Chino” was very ambitious about life. While his parents danced and sung to their Indian music, young Chino was falling under the spell of a different drum. It was the sound of the local Rastafarians as they played their Reggae music on the streets of the neighborhood. He was so entranced by their music that he'd often sneak out of the house to hang with his older friends, just to listen to the Reggae sound.

Early on, Chino had no desire to sing or rap. He found more satisfaction in playing the music of his favorite Reggae artists like Bob Marley, Burning Spear, and others. As a result, his instrument became the turntable. When he was able to acquire his first pair of turntables, he was out buying records every week. After spinning records at house parties, garage parties, block parties, and even a nightclub or two, Chino was now officially a DJ. He made his own mix tapes and distributed them to his peers to play in the clubs for him. Chino was enjoying life and moving closer to his musical dreams when suddenly, due to personal reasons relating to family issues, he had to put music career on hold.

Chino decided to move to Atlanta, GA for a fresh start. He hoped to become inspired about his music again and get his big break into show biz. He began writing songs about his past experiences and things that surrounded him during his most aspiring years of doing music. It was then, that Chino took on the artistic name, D. iNDyAN. He was fortunate to receive artist development and vocal lessons from a music veteran named Rhetta Butler. In addition, he had the privilege of being mentored by another industry veteran named Louis Martinez of Syncrecy Recording. Through this brief encounter, Chino learned valuable information about the music industry that if applied will guide him down the straight path.

D. iNDyAN is now a seasoned artist, who knows his purpose. His style is Dancehall Reggae, with Indian, Latin, and R&B influences. If you like to dance and party, you will be a fan of D. iNDyAN music. In his own words, "We all need to be entertained because entertainment keeps us stress free." He hopes to” follow in the footsteps of his artistic influences such as the Multiple Award Winner Sean Paul, and Grammy Award-winning Shaggy, Peter Metro, Michigan & Smiley, and many others.

Recently, D. iNDyAN has been working on his debut album, slated to drop in the near future. His first two singles “Boom Shack” and “Turn The Beat Up”, completed in late 2004, have already received great reviews from clubs in Atlanta, New York, and Boston. They have also received very promising comments from many listeners and radio hosts around the United States as well as overseas. This is only a taste of what's to come. The new album will have something everyone will enjoy no matter what part of the world they live in.

Although, D. iNDyAN has been working on his project independently, he welcomes the assistance of a record label or industry professional that can see his potential. He is not only talented, but also wise. He constantly strives to learn more about the business and how he can share his gift with the masses. With the proper team he can achieve this goal at a much faster pace.
